April 2011
April Showers... and April Showers... and April showers... AND April Showers are certain to bring LOTS and lots and LOTS of May flowers. We hope!
Here are the words to the song: (Words and graphic from: http://www.halcyondaysmusic.com)
First Verse When the whole world seems so drear, And above dark clouds appear, And your heat seems filled with fear, Don't feel sad and blue; Think how nice it soon will be, When the sun shines cheerfully, Try it and I know you'll see What I say is true!
Second Verse Happiness was meant for you, Seek it and you'll find it too, Then your life will start a new, Wonderful 'twill be; Sorrow was not meant to stay, Just to come and go away Tho' it finds us all some day, Still you'll surely see:
Chorus April showers bring May flowers, And sweet bowers, where roses twine; Now I know too, I can show you, That it's so too all the time, If the sunshine came at one time, All the fun time would soon be through; April showers bring May flowers, So just wait 'till love comes to you.
That brings us to Easter, late this year and chores undone because of the weather and work schedule. (The work that pays the bills.)
The tractor is out of commission. Hopefully this week in for repairs.
The bags of leaves (collected by the City of Jamestown and dropped off at the farm and used to mulch the garden) sit unopened. Like Goldilocks (too hot, too cold, just right) the weather is either too windy, too cold or too wet to spread the leaves.
The grass barely got mowed before it rained again. The blades were dry but the wheels of the mower left a muddy trail behind. Thank goodness it’s been too wet for most of the weeds to take off but it won’t be long until they spring forth, flower and seed and cause havoc in efforts to control.
